Stayed at Christmas for our first extended family Christmas, Incredibly disappointing experience for what should have been a brilliant family Christmas. Poor quality throughout, from the bathrooms to the mattresses and bedrooms, three of which are spaces made behind cheap wood and bunk beds behind a curtain. The dining area is effectively a "mess hall", which you either have to enter via an outside staircase or a very steep, narrow stairs without full headroom at the top, everything is tacky and grimy and should have been replaced years ago. If you're looking for a quality, comfortable getaway, this is the opposite.

Crisp perfect bed linen; spotless kitchen, bathroom (with mini sauna!); cosy and spacious. Hosts were attentive yet discreet, well informed and extreme helpful. We absolutely love this place, a beautiful conversion of a wonderful historic building
Can't recommend highly enough.

What’s not to love. This is an absolutely stunning property. The rooms are beautifully designed, each one unique. It’s a perfect place for any kind of gathering- party or just be, unwind, relax and be with friends. Liz the host is so helpful and has so many creative ideas for a perfect break. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I feel compelled to write this review, not just because of the issues we had with house, but also due to the attitude of the host after reading the comments and responses. The pictures on the website were clearly taken a number of years ago. The house is big but tired. The bathrooms are in drastic need of attention, the mattresses were extremely thin and uncomfortable, old creaky bunk beds and there is a very precarious wooden staircase which is not shown in the pics and is not really suitable for older guests. Things like this should be flagged in the blurb. I suggest it's time for a refurb.

Having been really looking forward to Christmas, with the extended family, we were so disheartened by the experience. Such a tired house. I had a shower on Christmas eve and decided that I would wait until we got home to wash again. Nine of us left a day early because it was so uncomfortable and, frankly, depressing. We were expecting a countryside setting and accommodating house but were met with a bizarre, disjointed set up, very weathered fixtures and fittings and had to make the best of a bad situation. Absolutely not as advertised with an excruciating cleaning and recycling policy, which was landed on us at the last moment. If you're looking for a spit and sawdust, student experience for a stag or hen do, maybe, but if your'e looking for a relaxing, sophisticated and comfortable get away this is not for you. Not as advertised with a seemingly passive aggressive host. I would steer you to "Unique homestays" if you're looking for something classy and comfortable.

What an incredible place!? Amazing and quirky property with everything you'd need for a group get together. Very easy to get to from the M5 and some lovely walking locations.
The property was very well equipped with everything that we needed for our annual group reunion!
We also adored Simba (the cat) who would come and check in on us!
Would definitely recommend this house, and Liz (the host) was incredibly helpful.

I’ve stayed at Mill End a couple of times now for special birthday parties. The decor is stunning. The space is just amazing. For cooking, eating, hanging out, drinking, dancing. Beautiful walks nearby in the Forest. Literally the perfect country weekend retreat.

Great accommodation in a fantastic location. We choose to self-cater and had all the equipment we needed to feed 25. The dining room was big enough to accommodate us all, which made such a difference in catching up with old and new friends! Thanks for a great stay!

A lovely quirky place to stay for a big group, equipped with everything you need to have a great time! We were a large group of mountain bikers and it was the perfect place to host our annual get-together! Definitely recommend!
